Hi guys n gals,
Those known to me on the forums know I drive a 1.9derv VW Bora and I come here with interest of others information.
The issue I am struggling with is my handbrake, simply it dosent work. When I pull the handbrake on it give resistance like a normal working handbrake should but it doesn't hold the car in place on any significant hills.
If anyone has a suggestion to why this may be, or even how to solve it all info would be greatly appreciated Very Happy

Cables have worn is a good place to start.
Then look at the rear calipers as if the bit behind piston for handbrake fails or wears then it doesnt have the force to lock

cheers jay, through a bit of research i have found that handbrake cables are a weakness on these cars!

only thing i will add is that i got the rear pads changed a while back and for three days the handbrake was mint, and then it went back to its normal poop self :/
