Weight is a killer on accelaration..
Loose weight before pushing engines.
power to weight is the intelligent accelaration goal..

pop along to dick turpin on a wedns or monthly meet id you need advice matey.

I already had this discussion with a few other people.

The Supra weights 1542 kg at the heaviest. Minus driver
620bhp at the flywheel = 570bhp at the hub, So the power to weight ratio is around 426 bhp per ton

I am not sure if it is just me. I have given passenger rides to family, friends and they all say its fast enough and I beaten a GTR on the road (friends GT-R)

But I still don't think its enough Neutral

I don't really get out much to be honest, I have two jobs. If I can attend meets its very few and far. But I am hoping to make it for this club meet at the end of the month to say hello in person.

Mine is 390 bhp per tonne.
In terms of accelaration im used to it.
so get roughly what you mean.
But id look at losing weight first matey..
1 its cheaper, and most importantly engine and components will be under less stress with less weight.

I didn't want to lose too much of the luxury side of the car Very Happy
I have custom lightweight pulleys (AUX, steering and etc)

stock alternator pulley = 273g, custom pulley= 91g
stock water pump= 455g, custom pulle 182g
stock power steering pulley= 596g, custom pulley 339g

Also a RPS lighten flywheel which I hate lol Might even fit the stock one back in all depends if I get my HKS LA twin plate clutch kit.

So the only thing left for me is to increase.

I check out the thread in after this Smile

I don't have my dyno sheet on me but rough guess.
turbo is at full boost at 4krpm and it reaches 7.5krpm

The mapper adjusted the rpm limiter.

Well powerband helps with acceleration.
Usually tourque curve is next..
My guess is another 100bhp in the same weight car wont feel a lot faster.
Be quicker no doubt but its got weight to pull..
To put into context every say 50bhp u gain is like 15 for me as i weigh less.

Yeah I know what you are saying. but I can tell you that an 100BHP does make a big differences

If I am running on the turbo actuators at 0.9 bar of boost, at the hub its 420bhp
But when I set it on the Hi boost using that 620bhp at the flywheel you feel it.

have you been in a GT-R or something above 550BHP ?

I want to build something that brings a smile to myself and also scare me at the same time.

I know what your saying, but you just used a 200bhp example.lol
Seriously not tryin rock the apple cart, but your used to that power, and you want more because a mate of yours is 900 or whatever you think you can faster, but theirs alot more then chasing numbers..
is this going to be a drag motor like daves?

I am not trying to complete with my friend. My build budget is not has high as his.
The money he put into will make most grown men cry.

I don't know what I am actually building it for to be honest. Once I hit my power goal at 750bhp I decide then.

Since owing a Supra five years ago I have always wanted to do it, so saved up with money and here I am.

What else can be done now if I am not chasing numbers?
The car is almost how I want it in terms of look, engine is fully rebuilt spare no expense of OEM and after market parts.

If you are talking about tracking it? I would say no lol
I spent too much to track this car, if I were to track it I buy a MX5 or I am on the look out for a AE86 for a drift car.

Kinda awnsered it there buddy..
To me it seems your not maximising the enjoyment of the car..
If u did north weald a lot and santa pod drag days then maybe then the enjoyment side will come back.
Because on the road you will never use the full potential or power of the car and that maybe and even greater dissapointment.

I did do Santa pod last year before the build. I only just got it back from the mapper last week, I have been thinking about taking it to North Weald and give it another run.

Sometimes on texted conversation some of the meaning and tone gets lost and can get interpreted wrongly so it be good to chat to you all in person and put some faces behind the username. Nod
